It may be good to know that the city of Mons is called "Bergen" in Flemish (which is Dutch, spoken in Belgium).
By plane

Brussels Airport (BRU) (also called "Zaventem") is about one hour by train from Mons (direct train every hour).
The train station is located below the arrivals hall.
Important notice: Due to railroad works, the direct train will not be running in the weekend of October 14-15, 2017. Please consult the national timetables on www.belgianrail.be for train trips including a transfer.
Several companies run shuttle services between Brussels Airport-Zaventem and Mons: Navette Connection, Navettes Devos, Taxi speed, Taxi Willy, Taxi2Brussels, Jetnavette

Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL) is about one hour by public transportation (bus + train) from Mons.
There is no train station at the airport itself, but buses and taxis provide a link to the rail network.
Don't be confused: this airport is located at the city of Charleroi, which is about 60 km south of Brussels.

Consult the national timetables on www.belgianrail.be. These timetables include bus services. In these timetables, the train station at Brussels Airport is called "Brussels Airport-Zaventem"; and the bus station at Brussels South Charleroi Airport is called "Charleroi South Airport".Train stations at walking distance from the conference venue are "Mons" (1.5km) and "Nimy" (1.1km).
